Welcome to Ocean Stars

What is Ocean Stars?

Ocean Stars is a charity helping children and their families rebuild their shattered lives in Sri Lanka.
The charity was set up in 2005 in response to the tsunami which took the lives of over 30,000 people in Sri Lanka alone and left thousands of innocent men, women and children suffering and traumatised. Today, Ocean Stars offers these communities a route out of poverty by supporting a range of educational and livelihood projects.

In 2013 a group of students from Calthorpe Park School and members of the Ocean Stars Team are going on a trip to Sri Lanka.

We are currently helping to raise money for the charity and in October-November this year where the students will get a chance to see the work that the charity does and teach lessons to the primary and secondary schools.

We are writing this blog to help inform people about what we do and to tell the public about the great work that the charity does.
